TreeSprite's Journal

Hey look! I've just written my first sonnet!

12:11:52 PM
I was hoping that the "Synonyms, Homonyms, Antonyms & Sometimes Rhymes" game would have an effect on me, and that I might actually be able to write some decent poetry again, and I think it might be working. I've just finished writing a sonnet, and while it's not on par with the likes of William Cullen Bryant, or Shakespear, I think it's decent. It even has a title! I rather like it, but then the subject matter might have a bit of something to do with that. ;)

Three Little Heads

I look upon them small and sweet.
They lie there peacfully; their faces soft.
Three heads lined up, they sleep.
Quiet as they dream, I'm lost in thought.

My head swims with memories of their lives thus far.
And I pray that my meager fumblings are enough,
As I look up, sending my wish beyond the stars,
That they can hold their heads high when times are rough.

As I watch over them in the darkness this night,
I beg that I'm able to teach them of God above.
So that they share always their shining light,
And spread to the world His blessed love.

These three little ones that I now nurture
Hold all my hopes for a joyous future.
